Tier 1 Interventions :
Frequent home contact: If parents want to be involved , keep in touch and let them know how students is doing
Natural consequences: Unexcused tardiness, student owes that amount of time during free time, after class/school
Daily planner: Have student create a daily plan, that they will follow in order to be on time
Rewards, Simple Reward Systems, & Incentives: i.e: free time, bonus points, class DJ, student vs. teacher if student isn't late for a full month
-
Take away privileges:Be less flexible and lenient with students who are tardy, take away choice of seat, freedom to leave class
Engage student: Informal discussion to help student understand the benefits and importance of attending class
Talk one on one with student: Build trust, be empathetic, find out why they are tardy and ask them how we can work together to solve the problem
Acknowledging positive behavior: Ensure all students, not just the student in question is acknowledged when they are on time. Acknowledge improvements.
More structured routine: Make age appropriate by having student create their own daily schedule that will alleviate their tardiness
Teach Organizational Skills: google calendar, apple calendar, reminders, alarms

For high school aged students, I would start with tier 1 intervention by having them use a self monitoring sheet for data tracking as this keeps students engaged and makes them responsible for accounting for their own behavior at this age and at this stage in the intervention process
For high school aged students, when things have escalated to tier 2 intervention, I will continue to have students use a self monitoring sheet but will add teacher and parent feedback on the form. I will also begin to track date on this student via excel or a behavior tracking system to discuss at meetings with students, parents and administrators. At tier 2 I would also implement a student & parent questionnaire, a counselor referral form and a behavior intervention plan form.
For high school aged students, when things have escalated to tier 3 intervention, I will continue to use the data tracking from tier 1 & 2 intervention levels. At tier 3 I would also implement referral forms for a medical professional and behavior specialist and an RTI report for the student
