Examination
General: sweating, vomiting
Cardio: low BP
Resp: hyperventilation (compensation)
Neuro: reduced GCS, seizures
Investigations
Bedside: obs, ECG (arrhythmias), BM
Bloods: ABG (mixed resp alkalosis and metabolic acidosis),
FBC, U+E (low K), LFTs, toxicology (salicylate levels)
History
PC/HPC: symptoms, drug, dose, timing
PMH: CV disease
DH: aspirin, allergies
Pathophysiology
Toxicity generally >150mg/kg,
severe if >300mg/kg
