- - - - XRAY, CT, MRI
      - Balance rest and activity
        Heat and cold application (cold if swollen)
        No heating pad
        Prevent repetitive use
        Massage
        Avoid bedrest
        Meds w food
        Swimming
        weight management
      - MEDS:
        Non narcotic pain reliever
        NSAIDS: ibuprofen, celebrex, mobic (monitor bleeding, nephrotoxicity -gfr, bun creat-)
        DMARDS: methrotrexate, Synvisc (avian protein allergy, venous stasis), sulfasalazine, leflunomide (eye exams, folic acid, increase fluids, pancytopenia, ekg), aspercreme
- - - - Warm baths
        Get up early to meet deadlines
        NO PREGNANCY for 1 year after stopping tx
        Avoid crisis
        Avoid stress and crowds
        Report fever >99.5, fatigue and bleeding
        Diet rich in folic acid
        Avoid heat
        Take drugs with food
        OTA/PT
        Assess pancytopenia
        Dont place pillows under knees (could lead to contracture)
        Alternate activity with rest periods
        
        MEDS:
        DMARDS: methotrazate, sulfasalazine, hydroxycholoroquine, (eye exams and EKG)
        NSAIDS: be careful with GI and renal failure (not drug of choice)
        TNF inhibitors (if dmards dont work)
        etanercept (report persistent fever and bleeding, risk for serious infection and HF)
- - - - MEDS:
        Antibiotics (broad spectrum initially until bug is isolated)
        
        Administer acetaminophen
        Get specimen after aarthroscopy
        EKG
        IV FLUIDS
        VITAL SIGNS
        ADM ABX
        This patients will be in ICU
- - - - Same interventions as RA
        No pregnancies (stop meds for a full year TEACH)
        Avoid sun exposure (Wear loose clothing and shade)
        Avoid large crowds and stress. Avoid getting sick
