Escape Room

Prison Cell

Classic scenario of being trapped

Settings could range from modern and clean to dirty and unmaintained

Latter probably unbelievable; former not very threatening to player and doesn't lend much atmosphere

How much scope is there for 'fun' puzzles?

Fuse box puzzle?

Lockpicking puzzle?

Might be too skill based, for what I'm trying to go for

Haunted Mansion

Would require significant development time; modelling entire mansion

Unless it was just a single room, or series of interconnected rooms?

Plenty of opportunity for atmosphere

Visual effects; fog, decay, blood etc.

Audio: creaking floorboards etc.

Grants decent amount of creative freedom with puzzles

Furniture based?

Would this be too generic, though?

Nuclear Bunker

Would need to come up with backstory as to why the player is in here

Note in inventory?

Unique atmosphere could be created

Visuals: Previously well maintained room that's showing signs of decay and usage, flickering lights because they've become faulty over years of usage, etc.

Audio: Geiger counter, furnishings inside room, etc.
