Name of All Muscles
Gluteus Maximus
Posterior aspect of dorsal ilium posterior to posterior gluteal line, posterior superior iliac crest, posterior inferior aspect of sacrum
Adductor Longus Muscle
a skeletal muscle located in the thigh. One of the adductor muscles of the hip, its main function is to adduct the thigh and it is innervated by the obturator nerve.
Deltoid Muscle
the muscle forming the rounded contour of the human shoulder. It is also known as the 'common shoulder muscle', particularly in other animals such as the domestic cat.
Hamstring
a hamstring is one of the three posterior thigh muscles in between the hip and the knee. The hamstrings are quite susceptible to injury.
Triceps Brachii Muscle
s a large muscle on the back of the upper limb of many vertebrates. It is the muscle principally responsible for extension of the elbow joint (straightening of the arm).
-
-
Latissimus Dorsi Muscle
connecting the upper extremity to the vertebral column. Adducts, extends and internally rotates the arm when the insertion is moved towards the origin.
-
Rectus Femoris Muscle
connecting the upper extremity to the vertebral column. Adducts, extends and internally rotates the arm when the insertion is moved towards the origin.
Pectoralis Major
a thick, fan-shaped muscle, situated at the chest (anterior) of the human body. It makes up the bulk of the chest muscles and lies under the breast.
Rectus Abdominis Muscle
is a paired muscle running vertically on each side of the anterior wall of the human abdomen, as well as that of some other mammals.
Biceps
is a large muscle that lies on the front of the upper arm between the shoulder and the elbow. Both heads of the muscle arise on the scapula and join to form a single muscle belly which is attached to the upper forearm.
-
Gastrocnemius Muscle
A superficial two-headed muscle that is in the back part of the lower leg of humans. It runs from its two heads just above the knee to the heel, a two joint muscle.
Iliposoas
Unites with the iliacus at the level of the inguinal ligament and crosses the hip joint to insert on the lesser trochanter of the femur. The action is flexion of hip.
-
Trapezius
Extends longitudinally from the occipital bone to the lower thoracic vertebrae of the spine and laterally to the spine of the scapula. It moves the scapula and supports the arm.
Flexor Carpi Ulnaris
an additional attachment point on the head of the ulna. It inserts at two wrist bones: the pisiform bone and the hook of the hamate. It also inserts at the base of the pinky finger.
-
-
Masseter
one of the muscles of mastication. Found only in mammals, it is particularly powerful in herbivores to facilitate chewing of plant matter.

3 Types of Muscle Tissue
Cardiac Muscle
A type of muscle tissue that is found only in the heart and is distinguishable from the two other forms of muscle. Cardiac muscle is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body.
Smooth Muscle
muscle tissue in which the contractile fibrils are not highly ordered, occurring in the gut and other internal organs and not under voluntary control.
Skeletal Muscle
a muscle that is connected to the skeleton to form part of the mechanical system that moves the limbs and other parts of the body.
