After an update is scheduled, D365 admins and additional recipients receive periodic emails
Emails are sent prior, during, and after the update

Updates are approved at the instance level
Updates can be approved in the admin centre

Switching an Instance
Depends on available licenses
Production to Sandbox, or Sandbox to Production
Reset an Instance
Only sandbox instances can be reset
This wipes the database and creates a new instance
Copy an Instance
Any instance can be copied to a sandbox one
Types of copy:
Full
: all users, data, and customizations
Minimal
: included user and customizations but no data
Deleting an Instance
Sandbox instances can be deleted
Storage used is available for other instances

A tenant can have 50 production and 75 sandbox instances
A licensed D365 user can be given access to all instances
A tenant is bound to a geographical locations
By default, instances are created in the same region
