Organ Histology
Liver
-
-
Stellate macrophages-macrophages in the liver but the only thing visible after staining are the foreign matter the macrophage was trying to get rid of.
-
-
Portal triad=hepatic artery (keeps a circular shape and has 1-2 layers of smooth muscle cells with large nuclei. hepatic portal vein (has a large lumen that does not keep its shape, larger than artery). Bile duct which is similar in shape to the hepatic artery but is lined with simple cuboidal epithelium.
-
Tracheae
Mucosa=pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium and lamina propria which is areolar connective tissue
-
Hyaline cartilage makes up the rings of the trachea. The rings are not complete and do not meet posteriorly.
Trachealis muscle-smooth muscle holds posterior ends of hyaline cartilage, that make up the rings of the trachea, together.

Ovary
-
Primary follicles are slightly more mature primordial follicles. Usually have oocyte and some granulosa cells
Secondary follicle are more advanced than primary follicles. Main difference is they have an enlarged antrum forming
-
-
-
Urinary bladder-layers labeled superficial to lumen to deep. Similar to anatomy of ureter but much larger

Kidney
Medulla which is the inner portion of the organ where urine filtration occurs. This is done in the kidney tubules which run longitudinal and have a lumen lined with simple cuboidal epithelium
Renal cortex is the outer layer of the kidney where blood and urine filtration occur. Blood filtration specifically occurs at renal corpuscle comprised of glomulerulus, an inner bundle of capillaries, surrounded by a capsular space which is then surrounded by glomerular capsule which is simple squamous epithelium.
