Employment
People are attracted to cities and people can't always find work
No work or part of massive informal sector
People will have to work as a cleaner or selling goods etc
People will work in factories
Health
Not enough doctors, clinics or hospital
Little or no access to clean water or sanitation
Diseases spread quickly
Atmospheric pollution leads to widespread breathing problems
Access to water and electricity
Basic services often doesn't keep up with growth of population
In consequence not everyone is provided with running water, sanitation and electricity
Many people then rely on fire for cooking and lighting, and polluted streams for water and sewage disposal
Environmental Issues
Traffic, industry and housing are the worst polluters of air and water.
Also lots of noise and visual pollution
Cities produce large quantities of waste
Waste disposal is a big issue
Environmental damage to countryside
Education
Lack of school due to rapid population growth
Not all children go on to secondary school
People can't earn money for family
Traffic Congestion
Transport systems become overloaded and overcrowded
More vehicles makes more atmospheric pollution
People suffer from smog
Social problems
High crime rates
Crowded and unpleasant environment
Murder, Rape and Robbery are the most common crimes
Poorer areas usually have violent street gangs involved with drug trafficking
Housing
People moving from rural areas or small towns
Nowhere to live
Shanty towns and squatter settlements
Too expensive for people from rural areas
