She was born on October 26, 1947 at Edgewater Hospital - Chicago, Illinois.
Hillary grew up in a family of members of the United Methodist Church. At first, the family lived in Chicago, and when Hillary was three years old, they moved to the city of Park Ridge.
Father, Hugh Ellsworth Rodham (1911-1993), was of British descent and was also a successful small business (textile) entrepreneur.
Mother, Dorothy Howell Rodham (1919-2011) was a housewife and was of English, Scottish, Quebec, Welsh and Dutch roots.
As a child, Hillary Rodham was a favorite with teachers. She excelled in sports such as swimming and basketball, and has received numerous awards such as Brownie and Girl Scout.
Hillary attended Maine East High School, where she took an active part in school life - she was on the school council, the editorial office of the school newspaper, and was also a member of the National Society of Honor.
In high school, she attended Maine South High School, where her teachers singled out her as "the most capable of success."
In 1965, Rodham attended Wellesley College, where she majored in political science. In 1969 she received her bachelor's degree and entered the law school of Yale University. In 1973 she received her Doctor of Laws degree.
Prior to her marriage, she worked for the Child Protection Fund and the staff of the House of Representatives' Legal Committee. Then she moved to Arkansas, where Bill Clinton began his political career
At university, she met her future husband Bill Clinton. They got married in 1975.
In 1998, during the scandal surrounding Bill Clinton's relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, which almost ended with the impeachment of the president, Hillary supported her husband and did not want to part with him.
Hillary gave birth to their daughter Chelsea, named after a favorite hit song of the 1960's
Chelsea Victoria Clinton (born February 27, 1980) is an American author and global health advocate.
She taught at the University of Arkansas School of Law from 1975, and from 1976 she worked at the Rose Law Firm.
In 1978, President Jimmy Carter appointed Hillary to the Board of the Legal Services Corporation. In the same year, Bill Clinton was elected Governor of Arkansas.
As the first lady of the state for twelve years (1979-1981 and 1983-1993), Clinton was actively involved in the public life of the state, in particular, in areas such as education, health care and the protection of children's rights.
