Social system

-Through out western countries coming to japan Christianity was
Up upon the Japanese. They already had buddiesm and other religions but Christianity was taught to Japanese at a young age by the European and westerners.

Culture

Differing perspective

-The different cultures meant different worldview perspectives. Some parts of Japan wanted to say accustom to on religions and beliefs, while other parts of Japan wanted to learn Christianity from the westerners.

Westernization

-Westernization plays a big role on what Japan is now and how they changed it in the past. Multiple positive and negative things came out of the westerners colonizing on parts of Japan.

Class structure

-Depending on your wealth in the Meiji period, you would be put into a different class. These include the wealthier people in a different class. The medium wealth/ standard in the middle class. The people in the lower class have less wealth then all the others.

Equality

-They only allow countries that established trade routes with them to enter their country.

-At this time in Japan the equality throughout the country was not the best and less wealthy people were not treated as well as wealthier people.

China

-In 1842 China lost a a lot of its sovereignty over the seaports
-Britain won the war with China and forced them to sign a treaty that gave britain special privileges included right to their land at special ports, having law forced trait on goods coming into and leaving china.

Russia

-Because of this they established the Russian. - American company, the cear gave the new company authoritiy so trade with the Ainu and gain control of the new territories. -Russia started to be involved in the wars with Europe and was paying more attention to that rather then the company.

USA

-The USA also wanted to develop trade routes with Japan. -They wanted to set the trade up so they could get feud for their steamships, and they wanted to set up a coal station at one of Japans ports to keep their ships while trading.

britain

-In the years between 1769- 1815 all of Europe was involved in a lot of war. The dutch station chief at deshima were purposely very slow in giving out info on the Europeans and what happened with them and didn't want a lot of unnecessary info

Iwakura Mission

-In 1871, the new Japanese government sent out 50 officials and 50 students for a 22 month trip around the world to visit 12 different countries.

-Most new industries including munitions and gunpowder factories. This was used for the military. -There were also different factories such as the silk and textile industries, and glass and chemical plants

-They tried to get a younger emperor to rule the country and build loyalty throughout the country.

-They wanted to make the country loyal and not need any issues with other countries during time of the war.

-The rebellions did not want to do as the government ordered and they had different ideas on how to do things and wanted to do it in their way instead.

-Japan had a lot of trade across the world with multiple different countries including China, Russia, Korea, Europe, and the USA all of these trades benefited each other with different materials for different ideas on what to us a for.

-They did not want to change how they had things at first but after a while witch the trade they realized it may be a good idea to switch up classes and make them less stirct and more contact between them.
