Feel safe & supported, celebrating diversity
Enable and support community safety activities, to reduce the likelihood of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour within our communities
Foster strong collaborative working with partners and take a lead role on the Western Suffolk Community Safety Partnership Board to ensure focus on priority areas listed in the TAP
Review current Community Safety activity and strengthen areas of responsibility such as ASB case management and reporting, delivery of Safeguarding training, development of Hate Crime Policies and activities supporting County lines activity.
Support more charities relating to youth crime, safeguarding and county lines and improve their access to grant funding

Ensure Equality and Diversity objectives are developed, owned and embedded across the Council to ensure those positive behaviours are experienced by our communities when in contact with representative of the Council
Communities lead the climate agenda, building resilience to climate change
Identifying communities at greatest risk from climate change (particularly flooding) and developing appropriate actions.
Identifying stakeholders with greatest contact with communities and working with partners to build their capacity to provide the right information on community resilience to severe weather.
Producing plans and processes to support and empower communities to build resilience to the impacts of future climate impacts and severe weather through community-led resilience plans, projects and funding
Involve Schools and Young People on the Climate Agenda and create opportunities for them to take an active role
Involve the community and generate interest in renewable energy creation and ensure any benefits are fairly distributed among community groups and neighbourhoods.
