- - - - Historic centre: important historic buildings (museums, churches…). It is the tourist area.
      - Central Business district (CBD): main commercial and financial activity
      - Ensanches: neighbourhoods of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th. Both residential and commercial areas.
    - - Residential areas: Most of the buildings are houses. There are also some facilities like sport centres, schools and supermarkets. In some cities there are shanty towns (extremely poor areas).
      - Industrial areas: factories, warehouses, hypermarkets, etc.
