Materials and Resources
Guest speakers
use diverse groups of people for guest speakers - give a different perspective, reach a different group of people In your classroom, avoid single stories
Field trips
encourage students to observe everyday places they see and go to - ask them to observe what happens there, the type of people that are there etc. - drawing awareness to their own community and the diversity they find there
go places with the students to observe and teach students privilege, race, ethnicity, and diversity
Books
introduce and present books that have a variety of cultural Ideals, backgrounds, experiences, traditions etc.
Have books that apply to all students Interests and needs to encourage reading outside of the classroom I.e. multilingual books
