ITALY
Common types of fish eaten in the feast (Christmas Eve) is salted Cod, Clams, Calamari, Sardines and Eel.
FRANCE
Salmon, turkey with chestnut and foie gras is very common food during Christmas in France.

JAPAN
Fried chicken is often eaten on Christmas day. It is the busiest time of year for restaurants such as KFC and people can place orders at their local fast food restaurant in advance!

SPAIN
Santa Claus doesn’t come to this country. Instead, girls and boys get their presents from the Three Wise Men, called Reyes Magos.
Kids here have to wait until January 6th, the day of the Epiphany.

Instead of having traditional Christmas trees, a banana or mango tree is decorated (or whatever tree people can find to decorate). Sometimes people use mango leaves to decorate their homes.

People in Iceland will often exchange books on Christmas Eve, then spend the rest of the night reading them and eating chocolate.

Christmas Day Swim is one of the tradition in Ieland. People are gathering at the beach and jump into the cold water.

SPAIN
On the day the Reyes come, locals flock to the streets to greet them. There’s a massive parade, and the Three Wise Men ride atop floats and throw candy to the masses.
JAPAN
Christmas is not considered as national holiday, as there aren’t many Christians there. It is known as more of a time to spread happiness rather than a religious celebration. The Japan celebrate Christmas Eve as a romantic time for couples, resembling Valentine’s Day.
PORTUGAL
During Cosada, the traditional Christmas morning feast, an extra seat is set at the table so that the spirit of the departed can join the festivities.
