LATIN AMERICAN ECONOMIES
The agrarian structures underwent strong modernization changes, and industrialization spread, with the foreign debt and the oil crisis increasing their impact. Its objective was import substitution.
INSURGENT STAGE
Organizations of workers, especially industrialists, peasants and villagers of the growing cities, allied to the left parties, grew in number and influence. A climate of social mobilization developed and guerrillas emerged.
THE COUNTERINSURGENCY
In some countries some guerrillas returned or started, Havana also became the center of political meetings. In addition, the United States tried to isolate Cuba, which was expelled from the Organization of American States, called the OAS.
