DYNAMICS: NEWTON'S LAWS OF MOTION
FORCE
a push or pull that acts upon an object as a result of that object interactions with its surroundings.
F=ma
Basic of forces
Weight
a force exerted on a body under gravitational field
W=mg
Normal force
reaction force that exerted by the surface to an object
always perpendicular to the surface
Frictional force
force that resists the motion
opposite direction of motion
Push or Pull
NEWTON'S FIRST LAW
State
an object at rest will stay at rest or continue to move with uniform velocity in straight line unless it acted upon by a external force
Inertia
tendency of a object to resist any change in its state of rest or motion
Mass s a measure of a body's inertia
if the mass increase, inertia will increase
NEWTON'S SECOND LAW
State
the acceleration of an object is directly related to the net force and inversely related to its mass
NEWTON'S THIRD LAW
State
every action force has a reaction force that is equal in magnitude but opposite in direction
any time a force is exerted on an object, that force is caused by another object
