THE OZON LAYER
This layer of the atmosphere contains large amounts of ozone and is located in the lower portion of the stratosphere.
The function is to shield the entire Earth from much of the harmful ultraviolet radiation than comes from the Sun.
The ozono layer became the focus of public attention when scientists realized that certain compounds rise up into the stratosphere and destroy some of the ozone.
MAIN TYPES OF POLUTION
There are seven main types of pollution which have different consequences. They have a negative impact to the natural world, but they can have a measurable effect on the health of human beings as well.
- AIR POLLUTION
Any contamination of the atmosphere that disturbs the natural composition and chemistry of the air. This can be excessive gases like carbon dioxide that cannot be effectively removed through natural cycles, such as the carbon cycle or the nitrogen cycle.
Global warming is also related to increased air pollution.
- WATER POLLUTION
Degrades the water quality and purity. Water pollution can occur in oceans, rivers, lakes and underground reservoirs.
The causes of water pollution include:
-increased sediment from soil erosion;
-improper waste disposal and littering;
-leaching of soil pollution into water supplies;
-organic material decay in water supplies.
-SOIL POLLUTION
Occurs when the presence of toxic chemicals are absorbed in the soil. this causes a risk to plants, animals and the soli itself.
soli pollution is cused by:
-dumping and littering
-deforestation
-non-sustainable farming
-OTHER TYPE OF POLLUTION
-
Radioctive pollution
derives from improper disposal of radioctive waste, can cause mortal illnesses
Noise pollution
caused by high level of sound, can cause psycologycal problems
Light pollution
it's the excess of illumination of an area, can affect astronomical observations

NATURAL DISASTER
natural disasters are a catastrophic events, usually caused by nature.
half of these events are linked to human-caused changes in climate.
the frequency of earthquakes, mega storms and heat waves has incremented
thanks to tecnology, today is easier to forecast major storms, blizzards cyclones...
the severity of a disaster is measured in terms of deaths, economic loss and ability of the popolation to rebuild.
some type of disaster
FLOODING
usually caused by trpical cyclone, tsnuami. this disater conisit in a excess of water in a place
HURRICANES
are large system of spinning air rotates around a point of low pressure.they can cause massive destruction in the coast ( with winds of 155 miles for hour)
the scientific name of hurricane is : TROPICAL CYCLONE
-
HEAT WAVES
are a periods of abnormally hot weather. combination of high humidity and hight-night temperature can become very hard.
