Grammar Method Translation
What is it?
Johan seidenstucker, Karls Plotz, Johann Meidinger introduced the method.
Derived from the classical method of teaching Greek and Latin.
Students Learn grammatical rules.
Translation of sentences between the target language and native language.
Little Bit of History
In the early 1500s, Latin was the most widely studied foreign language.
It was gradually replaced by English, French and Italian.
Europe XVIII and XIX Centuries: Education system was formed around faculty psychology.
When modern languages appear in schools in the XIX century, teachers taught them with the same method for classical Latin and Greek.
