The United States should remain in Afghanistan to prevent terrorist and violent
extremist organizations from using the Country as a safe-haven and re-surging.
Afghanistan is a focal point for terrorist activity and violent extremism in the region (Coll, 2004).
ISIS-K, al-Qaeda, and extremist groups target Pakistan (“Country Reports on Terrorism 2019: Afghanistan,” 2019).
The U.S. and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) have made significant strides towards peace (“Country Reports on Terrorism 2019: Afghanistan,” 2019).
Terrorist and insurgent groups exploit Afghanistan’s ungoverned spaces, including the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan (“Country Reports on Terrorism 2019: Afghanistan,” 2019).
The U.S. and other countries could be targets for future terrorist activity; therefore, it is vital that the U.S. remains in Afghanistan and continue efforts until there is full-proof peace negotiation between the U.S. and Afghanistan (Afzal, 2020).
The United States should leave Afghanistan in order to bring American Troops back and save the U.S. money.
The United States has been in Afghanistan for the past nineteen years supporting Afghanistan on efforts to reduce terrorism.
