What I liked about the VP course
We got a chance to make our own rockets!
We got a chance to learn so much about what forces effect the rockets, how the rocket moves, why the fins are important, Etc.
what is a rocket?
A rocket is a vehicle which has a thrust.
What I disliked about the VP course
We could not make the rockets in person, but I still had tons of fun!.
what is the path of the rocket?
1: The rocket launches and starts going up but after a while the rocket starts to turn because its staring to get in orbit of the earth. The turn is called a "gravity turn"
2: The rocket then faces some forces which are Lift, drag, weight, and thrust. Thankfully rockets are designed to not let these forces effect the rockets by putting components which help the rocket fight with the forces like fins.
3: The rockets travels and starts to reach its destination, but many other forces are effecting on the rocket in space like the sun. Thankfully the rockets are designed to not let these forces effect the rocket.
3: Model rockets don't go into space unless it is High power rocketry!
High power rocketry is when you get permission to launch humongous rockets which go really far! There are even some worldwide competitions based on High Power Rocketry.
4: A rocket will spend a few days going to it's destination in space. Some missions take months or even years! In the middle the rocket throws many things away to keep its weight stale.
4: A model rocket will start doing its recovery system. First It will start going down. Then the cone pops out and a parachute pops out which helps make a gentle landing for the Model rocket.
What Parts does a rocket have?
Thrust or moter d123. There are different types of motors which have different sizes and go different heights.
Wading paper: is a type of paper or tissue which helps the motor not burn the parachute
Nose cone: Has the payload .Different shapes of the nose cone effects the rockets in different ways which can be good or bad
recovery system: has a parachute which helps rocket land gently
Shock cord: connects the nosecone to the body of the rocket.
Launch lug: two or one straws which are connected to the launching pad to make a stable launch.
The wires and the parachute should not be tangled because if it does then the recovery system won't go like it is suppose to go. One rocket got blasted because 2 of the wires were tangled!
Plastic sticks: not really important but can be added into a rocket!
Who Am I
I am Pari Aneja and I am in 5th grade
I love learning about space.
I love arts and crafts.
I love to read
I love to play with Legos!
Newton's 3 laws of motion
1: a object a rest needs an external force applied on it to make the object move. It is called Inersia.
2: f=m*a means if you want to put force on something you will need to know it's mass.
3: Every action has an equal and oppsite reaction.
My Launch
I got to launch my rocket! Here are a few pics and a a bit about my experience!!
I took us about 2 hours to reach the launch site but after we got there it was really cold. Mr. Abhi helped us prepare our rockets for launch (adding motor and injection). We got split into groups and then fill out a ticket or form kind of to launch our rocket. I got destinated Pad 4. There were wire which we connected to the injection. What this does is that the wire gives electricity to the injection which then transfers the energy to the motor, creating the energy to make the rocket go in action! My rocket was named "Pineapple Coconut" because it had pineapples and coconuts on it! My rocket was very successful full but was filled not with enough wadding paper so the parachute burnt a bit.

History of rockets!
Have you wondered the history of rockets? Well, it's quite interesting! You know what? Let's see the history of this amazing invention!
It al started when China first invented rockets, but these rockets weren't the space rockets, instead they were for fireworks.
A while later, a British solder borrowed an idea from India to make rockets into weapons. It wasn't the best idea though, many British soldiers died from those rockets since it was hard to control it.
Finally, in 1926 an American man launched a liquid fuel rocket!
In World War 2 Germany used his rockets called V1 and V2 against England
In 1957, Russia sent the first artificial rocket into space. This rocket was called Sputnik 1!
In 1981, Usa sent the first man to the moon!
This caused a space race against Russia and USA
Story
Violet and Purple have a test from Mrs. C! Worried Violet and Purple haven't taken notes from the first classes because they didn't know how to take note that time! Let's help Violet and Purple for their test with this presentation! Reminder to Violet and Purple: Please take notes this time!
