Teachers and school administrators continue to keep an eye on the student. If student continues to have difficulty, the child's parents or teacher can request an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE).

Eligibility is Decided
If eligibility is decided, school administrators, special education teachers, and parents will meet to write up an individualized education program (IEP) for the child.
Special needs teachers meet with the parents to discuss ways they can work together. They also provide information and recourses for parenting a student with special needs.

Learn about your child’s disability
Connect with other parents of children with disabilities
Be patient; learning may come slower for your child
Encourage independence and responsibility
Look for opportunities in your community for social, recreational and sports activities (such as Best Buddies or Special Olympics)
School provides an individualized special education.
Special education teachers, parents and school administrators meet at the end of each quarter to talk about progress or any concerns.
At the end of the school year, the student is reevaluated by a team of professionals. Parents can again request an Independent Educational Evaluation.
A team of professionals evaluate the child and determine if he or she does have a disability.
