Governor

Representative of the Catholic Church. Gave spiritual and moral guidance, founded schools, hospitals and orphanages. Members of the Catholic Church played an active role in the colony government. The Catholic Churches influence still remained after New France became a British colony.
Fur Traders
Merchants
They made their living in the fur trade business. They imported goods from France and traded them with First Nations. Merchants also bought furs from Coureur de Bois and other colonist who traded furs. The merchants then shipped them to France, where it was sold for a profit - maybe.
Voyagers
Voyagers were men travellers from New France that went to the fur merchants of Montréal and fur trade posts of the Great lakes and maybe further west.
Coureur de Bois
"Runner of the woods" is the meaning of coureur de bois. It comes from the way Men from New France used to trade. By running into the forest to see and trade with the first nations. These people worked for themselves, and at first the government encouraged it but later on made it illegal.
Farmers
Seigneurs
Large plots of land owned by Seigneurs/Landlords. They received the land as grants from the King. Most seigneurs were rich Men, women and commoners from well know families. To keep their grants, they had to hire habitants to reap the farm.
Habitants
Habitants are workers or recruit settlers who work for the seigneurs. They would be peasants (people who don't own anything basically a slave) but arrangement were more flexible. In order to have the right of having a farm they had to take care of the farm. Some habitants refused to do work and decided to get into fur trading, some ended up in court because of the seigneurs complaints and some gave up farming to go into fur trade indecently, illegally (coureurs de bois) and some became voyages.
The Catholic Church
Division was growing between catholic and Protestants especially when Britain made laws forbidding Catholics to serve in the government. The Jesuits were a major part of the catholic faith and held missions to covert the first nations. They also supplied great info on New France and First Nation interactions.
Soilders
They came to New France to defend them against the Haudenosaunee and the British. The King wanted soldiers to settle in. Many men were soldiers just because they needed a way to make money
