Habitants
Habitant were called peasants and only used to farm they did not own any thing instead they were owned by the seigneurs
if the Habitants wanted land they would clear it them selfs plant crops build their own house and everyhting. and even then they had to work once a year for the seigneurs.

they received land from the King of france and then sold them. usually they were noble men and commoners and women were allowed to also be a seigneurs

at first, the coureur traded independently when the government of France supported it. soon later they made independant trading illegal.
But that didnt srop the coureur they found alternate sources to trade with like the british colonies.
coureur de bois means "running of the woods" this name came from on how the men of new france dealt with fur trading. they would go run into the woods hunt for some furs and trade.
Merchants
the merchant made a living of the fur trade they imported goods from new france and then sold them to the inuu.

they were pretty much just shop keepers.But there were many different types of things that merchants sell. some are blacksmiths others are shoemakers, masons, bakers and butchers.

the king wanted soldiers to come to new france so to encourage the soldiers he gave them seigneuries to the officers and then told them to go to new france
A seigneuries was something that would change a soldiers life the only reason they entered the military was for money.
