How can a flood change the economy?
What?
According to a German article, it has been said that it can really affect the economic growth because of the recovery process. If the natural disaster has affected most of the town, it might take a lot of money and it will take up a lot of money and it will be hard for them to recover from the natural disaster. On the negative side, if the country’s economic rate is low, it is most likely that the natural disaster will have a bigger impact because they can’t spend much on mitigation. And since they don’t have mitigation, the impact is bigger because there is no mitigation. This affects Vietnam especially because it can damage the citizens property and the electricity route.
Flooded Vietnam's houses, More than 170 thousand houses have been flooded and more than 119 thousand people have been evacuated from central Vietnam. Roads have been cut off to go to HCMC And one of the main roads to travel through Vietnam has been cut off as well.
When
Floods that have happened for the past years.
The frequency of the flood has been quite often. As it has been said in the Springerlink, it has been said that floods in Vietnam have oftenly happened in autumn and it is most likely that floods will come in. And according to it’s report, it has been said that as time passes by and in autumn, the water rises by 1 meter. And according to a database, it has been said that floods are the most frequent natural disaster. And since floods had happened so oftenly, a lot of deaths had happened and showed us how severe the flood has been for the past years. According to the data, floods have one of the most deaths and the most destruction. It has destroyed the most houses, it is almost on par with storms.
Big floods over 50 years:
1970, 1978, 1980, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2018, 2019, 2020
What could have Vietnam done better to reduce the severity and the impact of the flood?
Why?
Since multiple hurricanes have hit South Vietnam continuously, and since Vietnam had multiple hurricanes and typhoons that hit Vietnam. It was hard for Vietnam to recover because they didn’t have enough resources to avoid being flooded. Although they might have sewers. The hurricane was able to overcome that and clog up the system. One thing they were careless about was that the electricity in Vietnam is outside and that it is open. It is most likely that they are going to be electrocuted because the water is flowing through the town and that people won’t have such a high chance to survive the electricity flowing through the water. According to Global Water intelligence, they said that Vietnam usually floods a lot and after the natural disaster in 2008 flood. They have focused on improving the flood system in Vietnam so that they have more safety and that they can ensure people’s safety. Usually autumn is when Vietnam floods a lot so they have to prepare the system for almost every autumn so that floods don’t get too severe and that the floods won’t cause too much severity.
Happened because of conitnious hurricane incoming, and landslides. Making it hard for Vietnam to get rid of the flood and the landscape. And since tropical storms and typhoons keep hitting Vietnam it is hard for the army and the government to help the citizen other than to just evacuate everyone in central of Vietnam.

How they avoided the flood.
The GDP isn’t growing progressively. Although 1995 was the highest point of their economic growth. It seems to be that it has maintained its growth again and is growing again. In 2019, they are at 7.017. According to tradingeconomics, Vietnam has been gradually growing from 2010 to 2020. It has gradually grown and the growth of it is now at 261.92 billion dollars. Although the GDP has been growing, some research has been said that there are some citizens in Vietnam that are exposed to dangerous spots in Vietnam and can be affected because of climate change. This can be a huge loss because as Vietnam is struggling to handle the natural disaster, they also have to worry about people’s health. Although Vietnam is trying to cope with economics with nature. It is hard for them to manage the mortal rate and the mitigation. Meaning that citizens of Vietnam aren’t guaranteed with their safety as much as people with high wealth.
