After traveling to Paris because of an scholarship he obtained, he became an UNESCO translator, which allowed him to stay permanently in the French capital
In the 1960´s, Julio Cortazar became one of the main figures in the "boom" of Hispanic American literature.

He traveled to Cuba in 1965, after that and thanks to his social and political awarness, he was involved in many political acts such as the inauguration of the president Salvador Allende in Chile or supporting the trade union movement in Nicaragua.

He passed from living in Europe (Belguim, Barcelona) to Banfield, near Buenos Aires (LATAM)
For economical income, he would for a short period teach secondary schools, and would analyze sonnets under a pseudonym. Not much after he would be a professor of the french language, and publish a book about the myth of theseus and the minotaur.
He would later go on to become a full time professional writer as his dependent economic income source
He described his childhood home as being big and having a lot of things for a child to educate himself with as well as toys and activity areas
He did most of his schooling in Banfield , a middle /working class town near Buenos Aires .
In 1953 , he moved to france with his wife , but during this time they had a small financial struggle .
But this quiqly ended once he started to translate the complete work, in prose, by Edgar Allan Poe for the University of Puerto Rico
Because of his work and income he was able to travel all around to country to places like Paris, Italy ,and poland .

One of the biggest events in his life was the abandonment of his father towards his family which also caused to be in a tight economic situation
