Assessments
-
This cognitive assessment is designed for patients who are in a vegetative or minimally conscious state. The purpose is to identify functional and communication abilities of the patient.
For this patient, this assessment is relevant because he is at rancho level II. It would be important to know reflexive, spontaneous, and purposeful behavior as well as his sensory, motor, and communicative responses.
-
This assessment is used to determine if the patient is in a vegetative state or a minimally conscious state.
For this patient, this assessment is relevant because it would be important for the therapist to know his potential when establishing a baseline for therapy.
-
Frame of Reference
-
This frame of reference would be used to determine the patient's level of occupational functioning and the ability to perform familiar activities (CITE).
Since our patient is in a vegetative state, this frame of reference would allow the therapist to determine the patient's ability to recognize and/or perform familiar activities.
-
