Plate Boundaries
-
Convergent Plate Boundaries:"Form where two plates collide. The denser plate sinks below the more buoyant plate in a process called."
-
A plate boundary happens when to plates separate and then the two plates meet and they slides together to create a single layer. A better way to explain this is when two plates meet and create a single big plate.
There are four type of plate boundaries:
-Divergent plate boundary
-Transform plate boundary
-Convergent plate boundary(ocean-to-continent)
-Convergent plate boundary(continent-to-continent)
Defenitions
-
-
Ridge Push:"Rising mantle material at mid-ocean ridges creates the potential for plates to move away from the ridge with a force called ridge push."
Slab ''Pull:As a slab sinks, it pulls on the rest of the plates.''
Tectonics Plates
Plate tectonics means that the Earth's surface is made out of rigid slabs of rock. plates, that move with respect to each other.
-
-
"Geologist use the word tectonic to describe the forces that shape the Earth's surface and the rock structures that form as a result.''
Plate Motion
The plate motion is how the plates move or especially if you want to call it in a simple way convention currents.
