Method:
400 participants (17-74)
List high school classmates' names
Recognise classmates' photos and names
Findings:
15 years after graduation
Recognition = 90% (names and faces)
48 years after graduation
80% for names
70% for faces
Free recall was poorer
15 years = 60% accurate
48 years = 30% accurate
Conclusion:
LTM can have a lifetime duration
Recognition is better than recall, also slightly better for names
Evaluation:
Good ecological validity (not an artificial task)
Difficult to control variables (whether they kept in contact)
