People
Some people in new york enjoy the presence of these funny creatures, but some do the opposite. Humans in new york sometimes feed the pigeons crumbs or little treats. People actually keep pigeons as domestic pets.
Pigeons can actually be race animals
Plants
New York City plants include mos, ferns, grass, sedges and rushes, wildflowers, trees, shrubs, and vines. Over thousands of years, native plants have adapted to the climate, soils, and environmental conditions of New York.
New York city has many parks, therefore, many plants. Though I do think that the plants in the park, have no adapted that much to the environment since I think people take care of them.
Location
Cities are ideal for pigeons because window ledges, rooftops and bridges are perfect substitutes for the cliffside ledges they use for roosting and nesting in the wild. Making new york city a perfect place to thrive.

Climate
New york is a humid, subtropical area. In the winter it gets exceptionally cold. Humid summers offer plenty of rain. This climate is great for pigeons as it isn't too cold, too hot, and provides water.
