Climate

Prairie Provinces, the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, in the northern Great Plains region of North America. They constitute the great wheat-producing region of Canada and are a major source for petroleum, potash, and natural gas.
Plants
Mostly made up of grass, sedges (grasslike plants), and other flowering plants called forbs (e.g. coneflowers, milkweed). Some prairies also have a few trees.
Some plants: big bluestem, little bluestem, Indian grass, switchgrass, leadplant, side-oats grama, porcupine grass, common sunflower, and several species of goldenrod.
Animals
Prairie Dog
They live in tunnels they dig in the soil. The tunnels are dug at an angle to prevent flooding (Behavioural).
Dichromatic colour vision to detect from a great distance (Structural).
Predators: Badgers, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, golden eagles, and various hawks
Prairie Dogs like eating grasses, plants, and leaves.
Sharp incisors to easily clip grass. (Structural)
Strong hind legs help them to stand upright, standing guard against possible harm. (Structural)
Barking to warn other prairie dogs of possible predators. (Functional)
