I can write to my councillor, sign a petition, or protest. i can't vote yet because I am not 18 yet.

Superintendent
A superintendent in schools managers in charge of a variety of different schools that could have Mandarin Bilingual and Spanish Immersion. All the schools principals report to the superintendent.

Services
Library
A Librarian, works at a library and you can ask them to help you find any book you would like to read or to help you study.

Garbage
The garbage men keep our city from stinking up. Once a week the garbage man will pick up the garbage and bring it to a landfill.

Superintendent
Definition: A superintendent is a person who manages things for a specific organization or activity.

Police Officers
Police Officers keep our citizens safe from all of the bad guys. They also are linked with schools in case of a lock down.They are called a police liaison.

Firefighter's
Firefighters help to keep the fire contained by extinguish it out with water. And if our city is about to burn down the firefighters put it out.

Rural Government
Definition: A rural local government can include a Reeve or a rural city council. The Reeve does the same job that a Mayor would do except they just make a descision for a rural area.
Urban Government
Mayor is the Leader
Definition: An urban Local government is the opposite of a rural Local government. Instead of having a Reeve they have a Mayor. Calgary is an example of an urban area. We have a City council, and a Mayor. Our current Mayor is Mayor Nenshi he has been our Mayor for 10 years already.
Elections
Definition: It is an event held every 4 years, citizens of the city vote for a representative of their choice on a ballot. Once all of the ballots have been cast and counted, they will announce the new representative.

Definition: A council is a group of people (that we call representatives)that have been elected to make decisions for our city.
Definition: A councillor is elected by the voters in their ward that they want to help with and is mainly the ward that they live in.

Revenue
Definition: The definition of revenue is when the government gets their taxes from the Canadian citizens they get their revenue.
Expenditure
Definition: Expenditure means to use money or time for a purpose to do something. An example of an expenditure is like using the money to fix a road, or to help fund homelessness. And then the money comes out of your income.
Bylaws
Definition: A bylaw is a law that is made by the municipal government.( the Mayor and usually has the city council allow the bylaw.
