Covert Sensitisation
Unique from of Aversion Therapy - Not commonly used
Client uses imagination, not being exposed to aversive stimuli
Example - Those who drink alcohol imagine repulsive, upsetting or frightening scenarios
May be asked to imagine progressively worse scenarios
Example - Being sick , Being sick on someone, Then falling, Seriously hurting themselves whilst being under the influence

Lasts a few hours
Unpleasant symptoms if consume alcohol
Examples - Heart palpitation, Nausea, Sweating, Headaches and Vomiting if have consumed alcohol
New conditioned association

Person will try and avoid this behaviour
May also try to avoid triggers
Example - Pubs or other situations where alcohol could be consumed
