What Are Signs You're Not Using Your Anxiety As A Superpower?
Pressure
: at work, school, family situations: pressure can push on our anxiety and be one of the first signs that it is time to turn on your super power vs. allowing anxiety to win.
Time Management
: With deadlines approaching, we can feel stress from completing tasks. HW assignments, work assignments, even communicating in proper times.
Intuition:
We're feeling a lot of emotions attached to our environment and these emotions can be intensified, unbalanced, and overwhelming because our intuition is being utilized incorrectly.
What Are The First Steps To Changing Anxiety into a Super Power?
Recognition
: Admitting to yourself that anxiety is getting the best of your situation/emotions.
Changing Your Mindset
: Preparing to implicate skills and resources for yourself to process and manage anxiety
Talk with someone you trust
: tell your family, significant other, teacher, boss, someone that you're close with and trust that you're struggling to manage anxiety at this time.
Positivity
: Approach new situations/emotions with positivity that focuses on solutions and options, rather than the problem itself
Journal:
Write all the chaos down! Express how you feel, describe your worries, vent on paper.
Potential Medication
: Talking with your primary care doctor, local mental health resources, can make your anxiety more manageable and you can therapeutically break down your anxiety and see it for the positive thing it is!
Therapy
: What better way of practicing positively using your anxiety than reflecting with a therapist? Anxiety is a learning process, that can help with a safe space to process emotions and apply them better.
Meditation:
Feeling overwhelmed? Give yourself a second to calm your mind and body before handling things. You have a right to slow down before putting on your superhero cape on!
What Are The Superpowers of Anxiety?
Empathy:
One of the best ways to understand your environment, and the emotions of those in it. You become more caring, compassionate, and understanding when this is increased during anxiety. What a powerful thing!
Strong Conflict Resolution Person
: When you're able to manage your anxiety, especially with empathy, you become a better mediator during conflict resolutions. People look to you for problem-solving because of your emotional intelligence.
Resilience:
The more you utilize your empathy and conflict management, the more you build resilience in your life towards adversity. You're able to know that you're capable, remain calm, effectively problem solve, and handle adversity in the future.
Listen and Understand Others Adversity:
When you take life on with full force of empathy, conflict resolution, resilience, you become more understanding of others hardship and adversities. Being able to understand others in this way, makes you a great person to help guide others that are being consumed by anxiety. You're able to share your knowledge and help them make anxiety their superpower also!
Vigilance:
Being on guard for future anxiety-provoking events. This makes you prepared, self-aware, and adaptable to adversity.
In my How-To Article I want people to realize that Anxiety is actually a Superpower. It is not Gender specific either. We all experience anxiety, but with proper management can become a strength in your life. Experiencing Anxiety? While be ready to learn about your superpowers!
Studies show that people with Anxiety have heightened sense of empathy, make better mediators in conflict resolution, give better advice, makes you more resilient, able to share adversity with others, and more vigilant.
We're often very ready to feel anxiety, but not prepared to handle the situation. When people realize that anxiety is a gift, hidden superpower, we're able to stop stressing and take action and awareness towards adversity
