when neuronal ensembles are turned on at same time, one experiences the image as though they actually saw it
to work, signals must arrive at same time

Some neural fibers have as many as 100 layers of myelin
some have only a few
thicker fibers move faster
difference in myelination could be key to uniform conduction time in our brain & mental synthesis ability
a lot of this myelination happens in childhood
