Understanding stress
Defining stress
Stress is simply the gap between demand and capacity. Or maybe more specifically, it's what happens in that gap between demand and capacity.

The second step is to appreciate it, to actually appreciate that stress is trying to help you not hurt you
The third step is to make adjustments. With more clarity and more creativity flowing in your brain, you can start to think through adjustments that can be made to either reduce demand or increase your capacity
The first step of learning how to use stress for good is to assess it. Get clear about what it is and where it's coming from

Breath
The first step to recharge is to calm the brain with a consistent pattern of breathing. It's amazing how quickly our breath can shift us towards either a more calm or a more chaotic state. When we breathe slowly and fully, the pattern of our heartbeat also shifts into a more rhythmic and coherent state
Feel
shift your attention to feeling a positive emotion. Research suggests that when we feel a positive emotion like love, joy, or gratitude, we dramatically change the chemistry in our brain and body.
Focus
bring your attention to what matters most to you in the moment. I encourage you to think about the type of energy you want to bring to the time that you have
