        With merchants feeling that they've achieved much due to their trades, they felt that it was just right that they would receive power and wealth. For them, the fact that they achieved such a standing in society was one of their greatest achievements.
      - With trade even reaching the Ottomans, Italy had a lot of wealth to spend on developing arts and crafts and as well as having scholars who could interpret ancient scriptures.
    - - With a small population of people due to the plague, the workers could have an increased wage. The increased amount of income allowed some workers to pursue other interest such as art.
    - - Although their monopoly over alum, which is what they used to dye the cloths that the Ottomans desired, did not fully remove the need to trade with the Ottomans, they still had other influences. They were able to influence the government as well as control the general population of Florence
  - - - The Muslims were a source of the pieces of ancient literature that scholars were studying. Some pieces of scientific thoughts from the Muslims also influenced Copernicus who then went and made discoveries.
    - - Scholars were able to draw some inspiration from the ruins of Rome. Aside from that, writings from Greek and Rome were also studied by the scholars.
