The story main aim is to make them enjoyable for adults and childrens from 8 years old tell 17 years old

Stanley Yelnats, a boy who has bad luck due to a curse placed on his great- great-grandfather, is sent to Camp Green Lake, a juvenile detention camp
For a crime he did not commit. Stanley and the other boys at the camp are forced to dig large holes in the dirt every day
And I will write that Stanley eventually realizes that they are digging these holes because the Warden is searching for something.

I will write that I liked this book because it talks about a punishment because of a crime and i like those types.
Conclusion
The message in holes is that you should always be loyal to your friends and family.
I will write that Stanley worked hard by digging holes every day and he learned the importance of having a responsibility to those that you love and the story deals with realistic issues.
I recommend this book for everyone at any age.
You will enjoy it,the flow of events makes the story more interesting, how it started and how it ended, it will deliver the message and you will learn one type of punishments used for teens with different crimes.
