Conflict
:
Dave and Julia wrote their own Never List of everything they vowed they'd never, ever do in high school. Some of the rules have been easy to follow, like #5, never die your hair a color of the rainbow, but Dave has a secret: he's broken rule #8 and Julia doesn't know about it.
Spoiler:
Dave and Julia both had deep feelings for each other but never had the courage to confess to one another because they wouldn't know what the other person's reaction is gonna be, Rule no 10 "Never be with your best friend" is the rule they are afraid to break.

Summary
:
Recommendation:
This is a fun read that has some good food for thought too. Recommended for anyone who enjoys contemporary fiction and if you’re a parent to a teen, I could see this book generating some really good discussion, if you’re open to it.
The ending was hard and sad, taking readers somewhere closer to reality. Never Always Sometimes is riddled with so many clichés.
Evaluation
:
Like - Why?
.
Julia and Dave are both great characters, although since we spend a lot more of the story viewing events through Dave’s eyes, I felt as though I was playing catch-up a bit when the narrative shifts to Julia’s perspective. I really enjoyed the author’s use of language and his writing style, and I’d love to read more of his work.
Readers Interest:
Like the way Dave and Julia has been keeping up with their rules.
Having the suspense in each events makes the reader want to finish the book
Author's Style:
I just loved the author’s ability to paint pictures with language and to use clever word play to evoke a feeling or sum up a situation.
Plot Knitting:
The plot should be creative and questionable, and should have a question that is suspicious.
Personal insight:
I did actually enjoy Never Always Sometimes very much. The balance between serious and funny was kept up very well throughout, and the story explores some interesting ideas about best friends and trying so hard to be different that you end up missing out on so many good experiences along the way.
