Assess patients understanding of education
Encourage patient to limit the amount of lipids and salt in diet.
Place patient on fluid restriction if needed.
Assess patient for peripheral edema.
Assess lung sounds for crackles.
Assess patient's peripheral blood flow.
Ensure patient's O2 saturation remains in the therapeutic range.
Assess patient's pain level.

Education
Educate patient on importance of adhering to medication regimen.
Educate patient on signs and symptoms of a myocardial infarction
Educate patient on non pharmacological interventions to alleviate angina.
Educate patient on proper diet restrictions.
Educate patient on importance of exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Educate patient on importance of maintaining a patent airway, and recognizing signs of dyspnea.
