Why did Henry VIII wanted to reform the church in England? Henry VIII wanted to reform the church in England
King Henry VII wanted to reform the church because he wanted to divorce his wife and because he wanted more control over England.
His reasoning for wanting to annul his first marriage was legitimate, because he wanted a son and his wife wasn't having any boys. Also the church being located in Rome having so much power over England from so fo far away at the time didn't make a lot of sense.
How did the Reformation turn from a peaceful idea of change to a violent movement against different religious groups?
The reformation got violent when German peasants interpreted the writing of Martin Luther and decided to revolt against the ruling princes. these peasants went around the country side raiding villages and destroying stuff.
eventually the princes sent out soldiers with orders to kill any revolting peasants they found. this would lead to the deaths of thousands of German peasants.
