Three years after this new Protestant denomination was created, the German Peasant revolt began, and rather than joining peasants and their ideas of change, Luther ordered the German prince to kill hundreds of thousands of them. In 1534, Henry VIII, king of England, wanted a male heir. After not being able to have a son with his first (and second) wife, Henry decided to divorce Queen Catherine. Although he was a devout Catholic, Henry turned away from the Catholic Church and the Pope after being denied of his annulment. In 1555, Charles V failed to force Protestants back into the Catholic Church which created The Peace of Ausburg. This allowed for princes to decide the religion of their state. In 1559, QUeen Elizabeth I, King Henry's second daughter, took reign over England and created the Church of England, or the Anglican Church. This church was a church both Catholics and Prtoestants could accept. After the Anglican Church was created, new ideas and beliefs were created like Calvinism (predestination), Presbyterianism, and Anabaptism (beings baptized is a choice) were created. These ideas developed into Protestant denominations.
