I was a thrid cultural kid. When i was young i had some great teachers and not so good ones. This is what inspired me to become a language teacher myself so i can influence the new generation of kids to have a greater experience and be proud of who they are.
Welcome to the cultural shock podcast once again my name is Martina Esparza and today we will be talking about TCKs from the perspective of a teacher who has also been part of the spectrum.
When I was little i had a lot of struggles at the time to relating to people, in genreal. Because of the many differences i had with others it was alomst imposible relating and having a sense of belonging
Now i care less about others opinions. I am really instructed about different cultures around the world. I am a good listener and know how to accept different points of view
As we all know being a kid can be harsh. Other kids are often rude and lack of empathy. That is why I really relied on the counple of good teachers that stood up for me and helped me to adapt. They saw me, and my difficulties and with simple accions helped me to get through. Those simple actions meant the world to me
I am very much instructed of how to deal with people with different backrounds, I can relate better to them and this experience was what defined the path of my whole career and life. I have decided to dedicate my talents and mye experience to the service of others
