Security on a computer
Being safe online is very important as there are people out there trying to steal your personal information like your address and phone number which poses a threat to your life. They can also take money from you if you enter your card on a site which is being tracked by hackers. Types of malware can also be downloaded on a pc if you are't careful.
Most websites and software require users to have a way authentication to give access to their account and no one else to prevent hacking. This can be done by user name and a password, biometrics or a kind of digital signature. These should regularly be updated and most websites require passwords to have a combination of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Biometrics
Biometrics are body measurements of a person to authenticate themselves somewhere or on something. Biometrics can be found in many devices and have many uses. These days almost every person has at least one type of biometric recognition feature on their smartphone from fingerprint readers to a face recognition software.
Firewall
A firewall is a network security system that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic. A firewall typically establishes a barrier between a trusted private network and an untrusted network, such as the Internet.
Digital Signature
Digital signatures are like electronic “fingerprints.” In the form of a coded message, the digital signature securely associates a signer with a document in a recorded transaction.
Spyware
Spyware is a software that can install itself on a computer which is made to steal a user's personal information. Spyware usually steals data like account passwords, and ID. It can do this through a keylogger which is where it tracks whatever the user is typing. Sometimes a spyware can even have access to your webcam without you noticing.
Anti-Virus
Antivirus software, or anti-virus software, is a computer program used to prevent, detect, and remove malware.

Safety
Trip Hazard
There are many trip hazards in a computer environment such as wires, cables, and chairs. These objects can cause injury. So when in a working environment always keep an eye on your surroundings and organise the cables often so they dont get tangled.
Electrocution
Electrocution is severe injury by electric shock, which causes an electric current to pass through the body. This usually happens when there is contact to a live cable. When when you are about to touch any cable or port make sure it is turned of and there isn't any electricty flowing.
Fire
Damaged power cords increase the risk of fire, as a spark could easily ignite the room. Check for damage and have repairs done immediately. Maintain and clean computer systems. Don't keep any kind of flammable substance near the computer like hand sanitizer or cologne.
Stability of Equipment
Computer equipment like the desk and monitor need to be stable because if they are shaking they can fall over and they are quite heavy and will probably break if they fall and could potentially injure you.
