PLASTICS are a group of materials, synthetic or natuarally, which can be molded when soft and then hardened to retain the given shape.
ORIGIN Depending on their origin, they can be natural or synthetic
Synthetic aremade from compounds extracted from oil, natural gas and carbon. Almost plastics belong to this group
Natural are obtained directly from raw plant materials for example cellulose or latex, or from animal proteins
-
Ecological Properties
As we can recycle plastics, there are three differents ways to do it.
Chemical recycling
We apply chemical processes to make new
materials of the original components of plastic waste
-
Energity recycling
We can incinerate plastics and the energy that
produced is used in industry, to heat or produce electricity.
-
-
Joining plastics, we can join plastics depending the time that we want
-
Permanent joins
Adhesives: joining two surfaces permanently
contact adhesives: liquid, work instantly after applying to both surfaces, used with all types of plastics
acrylic cement: liquid, used manily for PVC and polystyrene
resisn with two components: liquid, high water resistance
Soldering: Joining thermoplastics using heat and pressure
Shaping and finishing techniques: we can use different tools and machines to finish the plastics objects that we have made
