1. Trust Vs Mistrust
Begins at birth until 18 months of age
During this stage, infants are uncertain and confused about the world
Depends on caregiver
2. Autonomy Vs Shame and Doubt
Occurs between 18 months to 3 years
Children focus to develop a sense of personal control
Developing sense of independence
Develop skills such as putting on clothes
3. Initiative Vs Guilt
Begins to interact with other people
Explores their interpersonal skills
Begins to plan activities and lead others.
4. Industry Vs Inferiority
Occurs between the age of five until twelve
Starts learning on how to write and read
Begins to do things on their own
5. Identity Vs Role Confusion
Occurs from the age 12 to 18
Develops the sense of personal identity
Becoming more independent
Manages to set how their future will be
6. Intimacy Vs Isolation
Occurs during young adulthood
Develops the sense of love and intimacy
Tend to explore and make relationships
7. Generativity Vs Stagnation
Occurs during the age of 40-65 years old
Tends to make changes that will benefit others
8. Ego Integrity Vs Despair
Begins at the age of 65 years old
Tend to observe and look back at the accomplishments made
Begins to reflect on life
