Electronics
Basics
Conductor: Is something that allows electricity and current to flow through it very easily. Examples of this are Copper, Silver and various metals.
Insulator: Is something that does not allow electricity and current to flow through at all. Examples of this are Plastic, Paper, Glass.
Semi-Conductor/Poor insulator: Will allow electricity to flow through some of the time. Examples of this are Hair or skin.
Measurements
-
-
Current= Flow of electrons in a circuit= Amperes, Amps or (A).
-
-
Input Components
-
Switches= SPST, SPDT, DPDT
-
-
-
-
Output Components
-
-
-
-
Speaker= gives off continuous noises, musical notes or anything else.
Soldering= This is when you use solder which is a alloy of led and zinc. You can use a soldering. iron to melt together and join to wires in a circuit.
-
Electronic circuits= This is a simple method that many people use to visualise a circuit like the one shown above
Electrical Components
Diode= A diode allows electricity to flow in one direction only and blocks the flow in the opposite direction
Capacitor= These are used as components to store and keep electrical charge and then give off after fully charged.
-
-
Transistors= has a base, collector, emitter
-
-
Integrated Circuits Like 555 circuit is used for timing for e.g. video recorders and timers. Has eight legs.
-
Genie 18 is a microcontroller board that can control slightly more powerful components (over 3 volts) such as motors.
-
Micro Servo is a device that can make something turn at a 90 degree angle and I will probably will be using this to move the cultivator up and down
-
Micro bits aware like small circuit boards that you could control yourself and program to do whatever you want it do do
