Full thickness burns
All complex burns
All chemical/electrical burns
Any high pressure steam injury
Burns affecting the face, hands, feet, genitalia, or perineum, any flexural surface such as neck, axilla, elbow, or knee
Circumferential deep dermal burns
Burns with associated inhalation injury
Suspected Sepsis
Differentials
Blistering skin disease (Bullous impetigo)
Cellulitis
Photodermatitis
Hypersensitivity reactions
Skin necrosis
•Congenital curvilinear palpable hyperpigmentation
First aid
Remove the cause
Irrigate with cool/tepid running water
Keep patient warm
Immediately after cooling wrap with cling film
If chemical burn, remove contaminated clothing and irrigate skin for an hour
