2.Stevens goes to the bar downstairs and drinks some local cider. Surroundings are all farmers. One of the farmer come to talk with Stevens and tell him he won't have a nice sleep because of the owner and his wife
3.Stevens then talks a humor jokes but the reaction of other are not in his expect which makes Stevens disappointed
what he says is a bit offense to the owner and his wife, but the owner seems that he doesn't mad at it
4.at 10 a.m., Stevens goes to another inn and taste the morning tea. The environment of the inn is great but their is only few people

Old Stevens
The drunk Mr. Smith and Mr. Jones accused old Stevens that he didn't visit the town in the right order. They started talking about John silver(old Stevens's lord)'s bad behavior led old Stevens to look at the two men with a reproachful look, this shows that old Stevens is very loyal to his lord.
It is ok to accused Old Stevens himself, but it is not ok to say anything bad about his lord. this shows the professionalism of his job and the loyalty and respect to his master
In the South African War, old Stevens lost one of his sons because of the commander's dereliction of duty. The general retired and went into business. One time, this general was going to invite John silver's house. Even though old Stevens hated the general, he still served him very well, and the general was very satisfied
a story that old Stevens likes to talk is a butler found out that there is a tiger under the dining table, then the butler use the gun to kill the tiger, tidy up the scene and call his lord it's ready for dinner
calm , strong, well experience. Old Stevens is a great butler that other can't able to see his emotion

There are butlers only in England because British are able to control emotions but continental Europeans can't.
It is not necessary to find out what is outstanding. Everyone just have to put arduous efforts to gain their own dignity.
dignity: the Butler must have the ability not to betray the essence of profession. A few number of housekeepers will betray their professional nature for their own private affairs
old Stevens is the one who will not betray his profession even though the person that is in front of him is the one who he hate the most. Also, he donate the money that the general give it to him to the charity.
The story that the butler who kill the tiger also have dignity since there is a tiger under the dining table is not a small thing, and the butler did not escape because his own fear. He killed the tiger clam and tidy up the dining room in a short time
