What does modern creativity look like?
What leads to a lack of creativity in thinking
No free thinking, no free opinions, being shot down for being different
The learning process in schools emphasizes unproductive thinking, focuses on memorization and looks for one correct answer to the questions given (Risnawati & Saadi, 2016).

Passive learning leaves no impact. When we create an argument, a solution; a new viewpoint; a logical standpoint, then we value that knowledge and it tends to stay in our minds.
Creativity is inspired when there is a problem to solve. Passive acceptance of facts, not being allowed to question age old wisdom, customs, rites, beliefs leads to passive learners without an independent ability to think critically
Content knowledge and 21st century themes
Changing dynamics
In contrast with most of their parents, more of today’s young people will routinely come into contact with other people of diverse backgrounds and experiences. They will grow up to interact, collaborate, and compete with others around the globe.
They have more technology in their classrooms (and in many cases, in their backpacks) than existed in the workplaces of their parents 20 years ago.
Accessibility to different cultures
Students can view live images from any corner of the world. They can debate, post their views online and can access millions of differing viewpoints that challenge their set beliefs.
Thinking outside of one's comfort zones makes students more competitive in the work force
Using technology like coding and writing software to solve problems
It is only knowledge produced with great difficulty that we truly value
Let children imagine
.Let children play
Allow free thought

Creative Thinking Habits
Encourage abstract thinking
Jot down ideas
Brainstorm
Defer judgment
Seek as many opinions as possible
Consider novelty
Be open to possibilities
Ask open ended questions
Throughout the processes of generating and refining ideas, thinkers must monitor and maintain control of their thoughts, behaviors, and involvement. The skills within this self-regulative process are organized by how the learners set personal goals and plan how they will accomplish their goals; monitor attention, focus, and progress; and evaluate the process and results of their activities
