- - - - The LON Aims and goals
        
        The LON had many Aims, there were many but the most important ones would be Slavery and child workers there are many others but these you can go into much detail about and also you can link them to successes and failures example Child workers is a success but ALSO a failure due to many not following the rules but Slavery on the other hand was almost a perfect success because not many benefited from it
        
        Slavery
        
        The LON did a very good job with Slavery around the world, in fact they freed up to 200,000 slaves which is a HUGE number and was quite impressive at the time
        
        Child Workers
        
        Child workers were a very big problem around the world mostly in Africa, an example of child workers would be African children mining coal and diamonds in Africa and not getting paid any money and if they were getting paid it was so little to the point that it was slavery at that point. The LON did help MANY children BUT many countries didn't comply with this change/goal and refused to do anything about it which can seen as a success and a failure
    - - Woodrow Wilson (USA)
        
        Woodrow Wilson 14 aims
        1)No more secret agreements between countries
        2)International seas cannot be owner by one person everyone has the right to it
        3)There shall be free trade between the countries who accept the peace
        4)there shall be a world wide reduction in weapons and armies by all countries
        5)Colonial claims over land and regions will be fair
        6)Russia will be allowed to determine its own form of government. All Germain troops will leave Russian soil
        7)German troops will evacuate Belgium and Belgium will be an independent country
        8)France will regain all territory including the disputed land of Alsace-Lorraine
        9)The borders of Italy will be established such that all Italians will be within the country of Italy
        10)Austria-Hungary will be allowed to continue to be an independent country
        11)The central powers will evacuate Serbia, Montenegro and Romania leaving them as an independent countries
        12)The Turkish people of the Ottoman Empire will have their own country. Other nationalities under the Ottoman rule will also have security
        13)Poland shall be an independent country
        14)A League of Nations will be formed that protects the independence of all countries no matter how big or small
        
        Woodrow Wilson Traits
        
        Woodrow Wilson was a pacifist and an idealist who believed that countries should rule there own. He also was a man who didn't want there to be another war so in doing so he wanted to create a LON but sadly he never got to join the LON because of the American public not wanting to be dragged into another war caused by the Europeans. Many didn't like his aims or what he wanted for the world making him an unpopular sight to most countries. He also didn't want Germany to have many punishments or sanctions because he knew that Germany would want revenge and wouldn't let this go without backfire
      - Lloyd George (England)
        
        Lloyd George was a man who wanted revenge on Germany but also didn't want a war with them as well, so George only approved of anything that would reduce Germanys navy because they wanted to rule the sea which Woodrow Wilson did not want in fact it was going away from his aims leading to disputes in the Big 3. George also wanted reparations from Germany but did not want so many to the point were it would conjure a war. In simple terms England did not want Germany to get punished so hard and in result they didn't care about anything that happened to Germany as long as it wasn't extreme
      - George Clemenceau (France)
        
        Georges Clemenceau wanted pure JUSTICE when dealing with Germany, he wanted revenge for the loss of money, men and land that Germany had caused. Georges Clemenceau was the worst out of the bunch and approved of all the things that made Germany weak like getting rid of Germanys army and getting rid of Germanys tanks and subs and more! France also wanted the most money from Germany as the war was on there land. The amount they demanded was 6.6 million which is 6.6 BILLION in todays money which as you can imagine Germany were NOT happy with and in fact it took them so long to pay off it didn't happen even after WW2. He was so deadly in fact that many gave him the name "The Tiger" which is seen in most sources that involve the Big 3 or Georges Clemenceau.
  - - - The Manchurian crisis lasted 2 years from 1931-1933 and was the invasion of China that was done by the Japanese ruler Emperor Hirohito. The invasion was the Japanese rail tracks being destroyed which the Japanese called "sabotage" there reaction was that they decided to go to war with China and take control of Manchuria. At the time Japan was also a part of the League Of Nations (LON) which lead to problems. This was also the first crises to happen out of the 2 that are covered in the paper (hopefully :smiley:)
      - LON Reaction to the crisis
        
        The LON reaction to the crisis was not the best. The way they dealt with it was ever worse, the way they dealt with it was talking to Japan saying how this isn't good because your a founder of the LON this led to Japan leaving the LON in response to this and the LON not doing anything else about it and the things they did do were very poor. What they did do was send other people to figure out was it on purpose or not and when they did find this out nothing happened once again for many reasons the main one being that the LON didn't have an army and that no one WOULD go to war with Japan cause of the location and how they just had a war and didn't want to put there solders in anther war and the last reason being that they were going though a great depression at the time meaning no one had money to spare at the time so no one COULD go to war anyway.
    - - The Abyssinia crisis lasted for 3 years between the years 1934-1937 and was caused by Italy and there leader Benito Mussolini an extremist who later becomes a friend of Hitler keep in mind at the time he was one of the big leaders in the LON and many thing he is part of the Big 3 and is the forth member of the crew. The war was a diplomatic crisis and was because of Italy's policy of aggression against Ethiopia. The out come of this crisis was Italy leaving the LON and many believe this is the main catalyst for the start of WW2 same with the Manchurian crisis
      - LON Reaction to the crisis
        
        The LON reaction to the crisis was kicking Italy out of LON and nothing else, the LON at the time were very pathetic at dealing with any country's that broke there rules just like the Manchurian crisis the only thing the LON did do was put SOME sanctions on Italy the main and most important one being trade of fossil fuels like coal and oil meaning that Italy wouldn't be able to fuel there army but the problem is that America wasn't part of the LON meaning they could trade with them and get away with it America were also the main source of oil so it didn't matter at the end of it
